As a group, we will be doing a project on Graciousness.
Our mission statement is
"We plan to change the mindsets of typical Singaporeans and to teach them the importance of being gracious. We want to make Singapore a better place for people to live in whereby most of the population will learn how to be gracious so that they can teach their future genrations how to be gracious and also to attract more foreigners into Singapore to help boost it's economy."

Argumentative essay

For the past few English lessons this week, we as a class have been doing an argumentative essay on the topic "Is there a need for Singaporeans to be gracious" Frankly speaking, from my point of view, I think that there is a need. Singapore is now a rather well developed country that is recognized all over the world. Singapore aim to get better developed in the future. So, don't you think that if Singaporeans start to act more graciously, it will be able to attract more foreign investments while will then boost it's economy? With a better economy, Singapore will have the funds to better develop itself. So, I feel that there is a need.
However, after the discussions that we've had during English lessons, I am now able to see why there is also not a need for Singaporeans to be taught how to be gracious. I understand that if Singaporeans are taught to be more gracious, we will become a better developed country, also have a good impression on foreigners and the young generation that follows will also start to be gracious. But, what's the point is there are a handful of die-hard Singaporeans that just refuse to change? Also, graciousness is something that has to be cultivated slowly into a Singaporean, it is not something that we can change overnight.

Progress
So far, our group has now started on our argumentative essay with the help from Miss Raine and her pointers. We have also decided on our mission statement which is shown on the left-hand side of this page. We have also finished most of the parts of our blog that need editing. Right now, all we have to do for our blog is to add in some pictures on graciousness concept and also a timeline which will actually illustrate all that we will need and will be doing for our English project.

DAYZ,
Jezelyn
